Colonne vert\u00e9brale de l’\u00e9conomie, la route nationale num\u00e9ro un concentre depuis 2020 les plus grands investissements routiers du pays. De Lom\u00e9 jusqu’au nord, cet axe de plus de 650 km s’impose comme un couloir strat\u00e9gique. Il supporte plus de 70 % du trafic national et pr\u00e8s de 60 % du transit vers le Burkina Faso, le Niger et le Mali. Entre r\u00e9habilitations, bitumages et doublages, le gouvernement multiplie les initiatives.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des centaines de kilom\u00e8tres ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9nov\u00e9s, des centaines de milliards de francs mobilis\u00e9s et des projets structurants encore en pr\u00e9paration. L’ampleur des travaux engag\u00e9s refl\u00e8te la place strat\u00e9gique de la route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entre 2020 et 2024, les autorit\u00e9s annoncent 595 km de routes nationales r\u00e9habilit\u00e9es. D’autres bilans \u00e9largis portent ce chiffre \u00e0 828 km lorsqu’on inclut les axes connexes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restaurer un axe vital<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un premier chantier majeur concerne la r\u00e9habilitation et le renforcement du tron\u00e7on Aouda-Kara, long de 110 km. Grandement financ\u00e9, il int\u00e8gre plusieurs composantes. En plus du bitumage, le projet pr\u00e9voit l’am\u00e9nagement de parkings pour poids lourds, la construction de forages d’eau potable et la modernisation des ouvrages d’assainissement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selon les donn\u00e9es du minist\u00e8re des Travaux publics, plus de 95 milliards de francs CFA ont \u00e9t\u00e9 consacr\u00e9s entre 2020 et 2023 \u00e0 l’entretien et \u00e0 la r\u00e9habilitation des routes nationales. Une part importante de ce montant a concern\u00e9 la RN1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sur certains tron\u00e7ons, le trafic d\u00e9passe 15 000 v\u00e9hicules par jour, dont pr\u00e8s de 45 % de poids lourds, ce qui fragilise la chauss\u00e9e et justifie des renforcements r\u00e9guliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al\u00e9h\u00e9rid\u00e8-Tchamb\u00e9ri, un chantier \u00e0 forte valeur ajout\u00e9e sociale<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le bitumage de ce tron\u00e7on long de 30 km a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 en avril 2024 pour une dur\u00e9e de 24 mois. Le projet pr\u00e9voit une chauss\u00e9e de 7,4 m de largeur avec des accotements renforc\u00e9s afin de supporter le trafic croissant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce chantier int\u00e8gre \u00e9galement des infrastructures sociales : salles de classe, forages hydrauliques, march\u00e9s couverts et ouvrages d’assainissement figurent au programme. Plus de 6 000 habitants des localit\u00e9s riveraines devraient en b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier directement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des contournements urbains pour fluidifier la circulation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les villes carrefours travers\u00e9es par la RN1 connaissent un trafic souvent satur\u00e9. Pour y rem\u00e9dier, le gouvernement a engag\u00e9 plusieurs projets de contournement. \u00c0 Sokod\u00e9, une voie comprise entre 16 et 21 km est en pr\u00e9paration. Elle doit r\u00e9duire la congestion du centre-ville, o\u00f9 circulent quotidiennement plus de 2 500 camions de transit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des \u00e9tudes sont \u00e9galement en cours pour contourner les monts Al\u00e9djo, un secteur montagneux o\u00f9 la circulation demeure difficile et accidentog\u00e8ne. En 2023, plus de 150 accidents ont \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9s sur ce passage, ce qui souligne l’importance du projet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parmi les perspectives figure le projet de doublage int\u00e9gral de la RN1. Ce chantier vise \u00e0 transformer l’axe en une route d\u00e9doubl\u00e9e de grande capacit\u00e9. La largeur pr\u00e9vue d\u00e9passera 14 m avec deux fois deux voies. Des aires de repos, des \u00e9changeurs et des dispositifs de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 compl\u00e9teront l’am\u00e9nagement. Une fois op\u00e9rationnel, ce projet r\u00e9duira d’environ 40 % le temps de trajet entre Lom\u00e9 et Kara, actuellement estim\u00e9 entre 7 et 8 heures. La capacit\u00e9 de trafic sera \u00e9galement multipli\u00e9e par deux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La RN1 repr\u00e9sente un maillon essentiel pour la comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9 du port de Lom\u00e9, dont le trafic est pass\u00e9 de 22 millions de tonnes en 2020 \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de 30 millions en 2024.
